Measure first. Then treat. Karachi's assessment-first psychology practice.
Psychological assessment, psychotherapy and clinical supervision, by psychologists who hold a postgraduate clinical qualification and have completed over 800 supervised clinical hours. In clinic in PECHS and DHA, Karachi, and online across Pakistan and overseas. Founded in 2009.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, this page is not the right place — here is what to do.
We measure first, then we treat
Most people arrive knowing something is wrong and not knowing what it is. That is the right time to come, not the wrong one.
A psychological assessment is a structured clinical process. It uses internationally validated tests to produce a written report on how a person thinks, learns, processes emotion, and functions day to day. Every assessment at PHC begins with an initial session to work out which tests are clinically warranted. You will not be given tests you do not need.
What follows is then built on what the assessment actually found, rather than on a first impression. That is the whole of what we mean by assessment-first, and it is the reason the written report matters more to us than the label.
What you can come to PHC for
Psychological assessments
Internationally validated tests, administered by qualified clinical psychologists, producing a written report covering intelligence, learning, personality, emotional functioning and neurodevelopmental conditions. For children, adolescents, adults and the elderly. Parents use assessments to understand a child's learning or behavioural profile. Adults use them to make sense of patterns they cannot explain on their own. Schools use them for placement and support decisions.
Psychological assessments →CBT, DBT, REBT, EMDR, trauma-informed therapy, hypnotherapy and NLP, matched to what you have come in with. Sessions are 50 minutes, in clinic in Karachi or online. Individual, couples, family and group work, and structured stress and anger management.
Psychotherapy at PHC →Clinical supervision
Structured, case-based supervision for MPhil and PhD psychology students and practising mental health professionals, led personally by Prof. Dr. Tahira Yousaf and approved by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. It is not a workshop and not a short course.
A team, not one chair
Every psychologist at PHC holds a minimum postgraduate qualification in clinical psychology and has completed over 800 supervised clinical hours before joining. Most hold an MPhil or a PhD. Experience on the team ranges from 3 to 24 years.
You are matched to a psychologist by speciality and by what you have come in with — never by who happens to be free that afternoon. If the fit is not right, tell us. We will move you to someone else, and if we cannot, we will refer you out.

PHC works with a wide range of psychological conditions across all age groups — among them anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, trauma, marital conflict, sleep disturbance and learning difficulties. Twenty-seven of them have a page of their own on this site, written to tell you what we do about them rather than to tell you what you have.
If you are not sure whether what you are experiencing falls within our scope, contact us. We will tell you directly whether we can help, and refer you elsewhere if we cannot.
All twenty-seven conditions →One practice, from a child's school assessment to couples counselling
A parent comes in for a learning profile. A teenager comes in a year later for something else entirely. A couple comes in when the conversation has stopped working. A school asks us to come to them. Because it is one practice, a family does not have to start again from the beginning somewhere new each time.

Questions people ask before booking
What is the process for getting an appointment?
To book an appointment we need six details: patient name, age, presenting issue, preferred psychologist gender, whether you want online or in-person sessions, and whether the patient is a minor or elderly. If someone else is paying for the session, guardian or payer information is also required. Based on these details we assign the most appropriate psychologist. Once you agree to the assignment, advance payment confirms the slot.
Do you offer psychological assessments?
Yes. PHC conducts a full range of psychological assessments including IQ testing, neurodevelopmental assessments for ADHD and autism, personality assessments, emotional functioning assessments, aptitude and career assessments, and assessments for specific learning disabilities such as dyslexia and dysgraphia. Every assessment begins with an initial session to determine which tests are clinically appropriate for your situation.
Do you offer remote therapy sessions?
Yes. PHC offers online therapy via audio or video on your preferred platform. Sessions are available to clients across Pakistan and internationally. Advance payment is required at the time of booking.
Is my information kept confidential?
Yes. What you say to a psychologist stays between you and them, and is not shared with your family, your employer or anyone else without your agreement. There are a small number of narrow exceptions, all of them about serious risk of harm, and they are set out in full in what confidentiality does and does not cover. Client information is handled in accordance with professional ethical standards, and PHC does not pass it to anyone for their own purposes; the services the clinic runs on, and what each of them receives, are named in our privacy policy.
How long does a typical therapy session last?
A standard session at PHC is 50 minutes. If your session runs beyond 50 minutes and your psychologist has availability, you can extend for an additional hour at an extra fee. You will not be charged for minor overruns of 1 to 5 minutes.
Book an appointment
PHC is an appointment-only practice; walk-ins are not accommodated. Message us on WhatsApp, call the clinic, or see what to send and we will come back to you with a psychologist, a time and a fee. Fees vary by psychologist and by service, and are confirmed before you pay. A slot is confirmed once advance payment has been received.
Not sure if this is us? Ask. We will tell you directly whether we can help, and refer you elsewhere if we cannot.
Everything on this website is general information about our services. It is not a diagnosis, not treatment, and reading it does not create a clinician–client relationship.
Speaking to someone starts here
PHC is appointment-only. Message or call and a real person answers — Monday to Saturday, 10am to 8pm PKT.
Not sure whether this is us? Contact us anyway. We will tell you directly whether we can help, and refer you elsewhere if we cannot.
Six details, and we can match you
- Name of the person who will attend
- Their age
- What is going on, in your own words
- Whether you would prefer a male or female psychologist
- Online, or in clinic in Karachi
- Whether the person attending is a minor or elderly
If someone else is paying, we will also ask for guardian or payer details. A slot is held once the booking payment is received — half the fee, at least 24 hours ahead.
